I’ve always wanted to be the guy that changes the world. I was going to preach my heart out, set an example, teach others, live like Jesus, and change the world. At times it was overwhelming. I would see a big world, population 6 billion, and wonder how I, a mere teenager, a sinner, was going to change the world. Oftentimes I would find my heart heavy with doubt and my soul crushed with regret. I thought I would never change the world. And I was right.
Thank Jesus the story doesn’t end there, but I realized that I am too small, too weak, and too insignificant to make a difference. But I found that when people surrender to the will of God, the world will be changed. When people sacrifice their will, their lives, for God, the earth will be shaken to its core. Change will be inevitable, and only for the better. I must seek not to change the world, but to be a tool to God, the one true game changer.
So if you’re like me, wishing to change the world, try to instead be a tool, for that is when you will truly change the world.
