The Real Reason for the Season

Since I am on the subject of Christmas, I thought I would also talk about a touchy subject: Santa Claus. I, for one, hate Santa. All Santa does is promote greed and take away from the one who really deserves your attention: Jesus. Jesus was born two thousand years ago so that He could die for you. He created the whole universe. HE deserves your attention, not some fake fat dude.

A while ago, I wrote a poem about Santa, and I would like to share it with you

Christmas Truth

I gotta little knowledge for you to hear
Santa ain’t real he ain’t got no reindeer

He ain’t making a list, he ain’t checking it twice
All he really does is steal attention from Christ

Christmas ain’t about some jolly fat dude
Who gives us coal when we’ve been rude

It’s about the baby in the manger on that night
When angels told the shepherds not to fright

You need to realize that Jesus is the One,
Santa is fake, and his reindeer are dumb

Santa ain’t got nothing good to display,
but Jesus is the truth, the life, and the way

Jesus died for us, He gave His all
What’d Santa do? He ain’t done nothing at all

Jesus made the birds, the sky, and the fish
What does Santa do besides making us wish

For things we don’t need or can even afford
What’s to wish for if you have the Lord?

Oh Santa’s of the devil just a part of his plan
To ruin the time to remember the lamb

Get excited about Christmas, maybe even shout
But don’t forget who it’s for, what it’s all about

You may be offended or angry. I really don’t care. I am not trying to be popular; I am just trying to spread the truth, and that is what I did.

It is what it is. Santa is bad (what happens if you take the “n” in Santa, and move it to the end?). What is left to do now? Only one thing: celebrate Jesus, the real reason for the season.
