A More Accurate Statement

Have you ever heard someone say “God will never give you something you can’t handle”? Well there is a problem with that statement: it is untrue. I realize those who say this really mean well, but it’s just not true. God will give you more than you can handle. He will. If He never gave you any problems you could not handle on your own, you would not need Him. And trust me, you need God. You need Him more than you need your new car. You need Him more than you need your house. You need Him more than you need your next meal. You need Him more than you need your next breath.

The statement “God will never give you something you can’t handle” would be more accurate if told like this: God will never put you in a hole He can’t pull you out of. He will never give you problem He can’t take away. He will never forsake you. Even when you forsake Him. He will never forsake His promise, which is:

I am the light of the world, whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life. (John 8:12 NIV84)

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, and surely I am with you forever, to the end of the age. (Matthew 28: 19-20 NIV84)

Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city…. He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen. (Revelation 22:12-14&20-21)
